Default Gone Baby Gone or We Own the Night?

I have not seen these movies and wanted to order them from Amazon. I actually wanted to ask you guys about them. If I had to pick one of Gone Baby Gone and We Own The Night, which one should I get? I heard good and bad stuff about both of them. So help me decide.

Gone Baby Gone was good but it seemed to drag on longer than the 2 hours it said it was, but none the less a well done depressing movie. Never saw We Own the Night but heard good things about it.

I saw them both and liked them both. But if I had to pick one - Gone Baby Gone. I like movies that leave you thinkin about them after you have left the theater.

Saw both, Gone Baby Gone is great, We Own is good. On this one I'd agree with Rotten Tomatoes, 93% for GBG and 56% for WOTN.

While Gone Baby Gone is a very good movie, the story is depressing and the pacing is deliberate. I will not be buying this on blu simply because it is not the type of movie that i would watch again, and again, and again. Certainly worth renting.

Gone Baby Gone is one of the best movies I have seen in recent years.
I have it on pre-order along with The Assassination of Jesse James.
Casey Affleck did a great job in both films.

As the co-producer of WE OWN THE NIGHT, I have to steer you in that direction. GONE BABY GONE is CSI:Boston for 45 minutes and then another hour of fairly ridiculous morality play/ends-justifying-means exercise.

The author of Gone Baby Gone also wrote Mystic River, so if you've seen MR then you should have a pretty good idea about the tone of GBG. I thought GBG was a great movie, enjoyed it more than MR. Never got around to watching WOTN.

They're both very good, in my opinion, (We Own the Night gets by more on the amazing performances by the cast, than anything) but if I had to pick only one, I'd probably go with We Own the Night, just because it's more the type of film you can watch numerous times. Gone Baby Gone is really great, but probably only good for a single viewing or two.

Wow, welcome to the forum, please hang around.

I have not seen Gone Baby Gone so I will rent it. However I saw We Own the Night twice in the theater and will be buying this no question asked. I loved the direction and cinematography in this. Best movie I saw this year (and I've seen a lot).

We Own the Night was probably one of the worst movies I have ever seen. The situations the characters are in were so ridiculous that everyone in the theatre was laughing at the screen. Don't waste your money.

Gone Baby Gone, on the other hand was a fantastic movie. If you don't believe me go check out Rotten Tomatoes - Gone Baby Gone 93%, We Own the Night - 56%. Save your money.

That comment alone explains why We Own the Night sucked so much. You obviously don't know what a good movie is or how to make one. You probably also thought 2001: A Space Odyssey was a ridiculous movie...

I really hated We Own the Night too. Found it laughable in many parts. A few good scenes, but overall dreck. Probably my biggest disappointment of 2007. But eh, to each his own.

I havent seen Gone Baby Gone yet.
