Obviously physical media is better in PQ than their streaming counterpart due to less compression. But is 4K Blu-Ray light years better in PQ than 4K streaming?
The reason I ask is because I don’t own a 4K Blu-Ray player but I’ve purchased some 4K digital movies from Vudu and GooglePlay and the picture quality isn’t as good as I would like it to be. Obviously the 4K version looks better than the HD version on Vudu, but ironically, regular HD Blu-Ray looks better than any 4K streaming content I’ve purchased. Almost makes purchasing digital 4K movies useless if I can purchase a regular Blu-Ray for a cheaper price and get better quality. A good example would be the first three Bourne movies. I have the regular Blu-Ray and I also purchased the 4K version on Vudu. Strangely enough, my Blu-ray version looks better than the 4K version in Vudu. So if HD Blu-Ray looks better on my TV than 4K digital movies, then how much better does 4K Blu-Ray look? Last edited by MrHT; 10-25-2019 at 05:33 PM. |
