Default Police Story 4 and Mr. Nice Guy Uncut - Blu-ray - Where to purchase?

Apologies if this is the wrong forum, I'm pretty new to this website other than just using the main page to check releases.

I am looking for Police Story 4 and Mr. Nice Guy on Blu-Ray but I was looking for the original Hong Kong cut's of the movie but I just cannot seem to find these anywhere. I found some DVD copies but they appeared to be VHS transfers which was dissapointing.

Anyone know someone who is selling these?

Police Story 4: Runtime should be 107 minutes, not the 83 minute US cut
Mr. Nice Guy: Rutime should be 97 minutes, not the 84 minute us CUT

Same with Rumble in the Bronx if someone happens to know, original cut: 109 minutes versus the 89 minute US Cut. Oddly though, the version I have is 99 minutes which makes me wonder if that is a mistake on IMDB's website. Wikipedia says 106 minutes. Confusing.

Did you take a look at the Warner Archive release of Mr Nice Guy? That has a 4K scan of the original HK cut, with the US cut as a bonus. Not aware of anything for Police Story 4 though.

On the Warner Archive podcast, it was strongly hinted that good sales for MNG would lead to PS4 and RitB getting a release later.

Awesome dude. Are there any other Jackie movies you know of in 4K or Uncut in 1080P?

Holy shit I hope so, I've been trying to find uncut copies of these forever. I've never seen Police Story 4 because they cut out blood and action scenes in the film and thus I didn't want to ruin it.

SuperCop they freaking cut some lines about George Bush Sr and some of the drug usage scenes, as well as important scenes where Michelle Yeoh talks about how the mainland is very different from Hong Kong.

Mr Nice Guy is missing 20 minutes so I have no idea what I am even in for here.

LOL Exactly. Don't buy U.S versions of Jackie's films. You're not getting the real deal. It should be a crime to heavily tamper with an artist's art. They butchered Jackie's classic films in so many ways. And unfortunately the youngsters and even oldies that never felt like watching a JAckie Chan film before, suddenly wanted to watch and buy his films. But they ended up with these weird messes that Weinstein and his people created with no input from Jackie. Apparently Jackie signed the papers not fulling knowing what they were going to do to his films before releasing them to the American public. And because he had tried for stardom in Hollywood for so many years prior, he was willing to sign the paper at all costs, it seems. He kind of 'sold out' in a way.

Please American public, please boycott the American releases of his films on bluray and dvd. By Chinese/Hong Kong and Japanese releases of his films...and if english subtitles aren't included (in some cases) , just ask around for a custom subbed copy.

So Mr Nice Guy uncut HK version on the latest Warner bluray is missing 20mins ? It's supposed to be uncut. ~Or are you referring to something different?

Just out of interest, which version are you talking about? The recent Warner Archive version is supposed to be the original Golden Harvest version scanned in 4K from the original camera negative.

Watched this uncut version of Mr. Nice Guy a while back. I found the movie to be more enjoyable than ever. Great comedy and action. On the other hand, quite the opposite regarding Amnesia. Weird, since I liked that movie better than Mr. Nice Guy 15-20 years ago. Some movies are better just living in your memories I guess.

I really hope WB make a run for Rumble in the Bronx.

A friend of mine was paid to be on set for the entire MR NICE GUY shoot and filmed a big making-of documentary for it. He filmed every day, shot everything, did interviews with Jackie and Sammo, and cut together a documentary for them that ran for more than two hours. When he finished it he gave the documentary to the producers and AFAIK it has never been seen since. Kind of a shame.

That really stinks... did he have a back up copy of anything?

Not yet. I was hoping they'd do another JC film in October. Even though it didn't come out in the US, they did DM2 in Oct. 2018 (Asia only), and MNG was Oct. 2019 (US only). Maybe they'll do something in November??? I hope so. I really worry that all the Golden Harvest films Warner has are just going to rot, or get subpar treatment (e.g., the DVDs that came out a few years ago). More people really need to write to the Warner Archives people and (politely) request that they either get off their butts or license out their GH library.

That's so common, sadly. I guess it's just going to rot on a shelf somewhere, especially since I worry that the MNG Blu we got may be the final home video release. (I can't picture this one getting the deluxe UHD treatment in a few years.)

Luckily here in the UK we have 88 Films & Eureka who have been releasing many of the JC movies (though possibly region B locked if that is an issue to some), they have been absolutely fantastic too!

Armour of God is coming out from 88 Films in the future (Mediumrare previously released it on Blu-ray here and the print was really good), Eureka also have the Lucky Stars trilogy being released (Winners and sinners, My lucky stars & Twinkle twinkle lucky stars).

Fingers crossed that Warner Archive release some more Chan movies going forward (as they are region free).

If you are region B campatible then the UK releases are essential and a real labour of love from the fans (many from this forum) and companies who have contributed to their releases.

Hey fam, looks like 88 Films has most stuff but still no dice on finding Police Story 4 uncut. Anyone else can help?

Would also be curios to get an uncut version of Rumble in the Bronx and others. Thank you

I highly recommend the Warner Archive release of Mr Nice Guy. Excellent film which is basically very similar to Rumble in the Bronx.
