Default Hulu's "Into The Dark" (Season 1)

Blumhouse produced.

1 episode per month, dealing with a corresponding holiday from each month.

Episode 1: The Body - October 5th (Halloween).
Episode 2: Flesh & Blood - November 2nd (Thanksgiving).

Can only assume Episode 3 will be a Christmas episode.

Maybe Near Year for Episode 4 in January?

Correct.

Also, worth mentioning that these are feature-length. So we're basically getting a new Blumhouse horror movie each month.

Hulu also has a new teen horror series being released on October 12th titled Light As A Feather. Should be fun.

Unfortunately, they cancelled Freakish, so no season 3 this year. Really enjoyed the first two seasons.

While I also enjoyed Freakish, it was kinda spinning its wheels. The second season was mostly boring to me. Not surprised that it didn't get renewed. It just never seemed to "take off" for Hulu the way they wanted/expected it to. Oh well!

Watched the first episode, and was really let down. It's supposed to be a Halloween episode, but there is zero Halloween vibes. I guess it doesn't help that it's set in LA, so there are no fall trees with leaves turning colors and falling. But nobody is in a proper costume, which is explained through dialogue. They go to a party that doesn't feel like a Halloween party at all.

For a show that's trying to be about a holiday every month, this one kinda missed the mark.

Also, first "episode" clocks in at 1 hour and 22 minutes, and the second episode is 1 hour and 34 minutes.

That's a bummer, maybe there will be some better eps.

Definitely disappointing to hear. Halloween should easily be the most potent holiday for a horror series.

One other minor gripe I have, which is definitely a personal choice, is when movies try to be too topical with modern society. Using "hot" words of the moment.

Like, they use the phrase "mansplaining" and it's just cringey in it's delivery.

Had a real busy weekend, and the process to watch Hulu screeners is a bit convoluted. Hopefully getting to it tonight.

The Body was alright... but everybody's actions were ridiculous even for horror standards lol

Just a reminder that episode 2 premiered today.

Thanksgiving horror called Flesh & Blood, directed by Patrick Lussier (My Bloody Valentine 3D, Drive Angry, Dracula 2000).

Didn't like Flesh & Blood, was like 30 minutes too long...

I liked Pooka, made sense to me. The visuals and effects were pretty good. About 10 minutes too long, but otherwise a very fun and creepy story
