Blumhouse produced.
1 episode per month, dealing with a corresponding holiday from each month. Episode 1: The Body - October 5th (Halloween). Episode 2: Flesh & Blood - November 2nd (Thanksgiving). Can only assume Episode 3 will be a Christmas episode. Maybe Near Year for Episode 4 in January? |

Watched the first episode, and was really let down. It's supposed to be a Halloween episode, but there is zero Halloween vibes. I guess it doesn't help that it's set in LA, so there are no fall trees with leaves turning colors and falling. But nobody is in a proper costume, which is explained through dialogue. They go to a party that doesn't feel like a Halloween party at all.
For a show that's trying to be about a holiday every month, this one kinda missed the mark. Also, first "episode" clocks in at 1 hour and 22 minutes, and the second episode is 1 hour and 34 minutes. |

One other minor gripe I have, which is definitely a personal choice, is when movies try to be too topical with modern society. Using "hot" words of the moment.
Like, they use the phrase "mansplaining" and it's just cringey in it's delivery. |
