This is great news. I run hot and cold on Jarmusch, but along with Mystery Train, Ghost Dog and Only Lovers Left Alive, this is definitely one of his films I'm a fan of. Love that B&W cinematography and those memorable oddball characters.

Damn...remember when Johnny Depp was still cool?

Thoughts on Down by Law? That was one of my better blind buys the past few years.

Awesome. Day one purchase (...or day one of Criterion flash or B&N sale).

Criterion included the Q&A feature on the Mystery Train release. Jarmusch prefers to not do commentary so he handled the Q&A like a call in show. Good stuff.

Cool, isn’t Dead Man an older Miramax title? If so, there may be some hope for some MIA Criteria is from the Laser Disc era.

Yeah- I believe Jim and Harvey had words over final cut. I hope Jim spills beans.

Jarmusch owns his films, so Miramax's license expired and he licensed it to Criterion.

Still haven't seen that one. Along with Stranger Than Paradise, I keep meaning to get around to it!

Haha, can definitely see that getting a Criterion release. Will they include shot glasses and postcards too?

Harvey thought it was too long I believe, and he was right. I like it a lot, but it would have been a much tighter film with a few mins trimmed off here and there.

I will get this disc though. Hopefully Night On Earth is next.

I'm happy this is getting the 4k treatment. The echo bridge blu sucked, then I upgraded to the UK steelbook. Looks like I will be buying this for a 3rd time!

Also, for the Q&A, I asked about the status of Ghost Dog and if it had a future with Criterion, because I love that film even more.

When he did he acquire the rights for Dead Man? He didn't always own it right?
