This terrifying new addition to the Dracula legend, based on the chilling chapter from Bram Stoker's classic novel, chronicles the journey of a merchant ship ferrying 50 mysterious wooden crates to London. As they set sail, the crew soon discovers they are not alone. At night, they are stalked by a hidden passenger whose monstrous thirst for blood turns the trip into a harrowing nightmare of tension, terror, and unfathomable evil.

Glad I stopped buying regular blu-rays and waiting for 4K releases instead.

I'll be picking this up finally.

While I enjoyed the film probably more than I should’ve, I’m perfectly happy with my Blu-ray copy. Hard to get excited over modern films on 4K unless they’re shot on film.

A solid, fun little flick with an unfortunate, routine pile of crappy cgi that hurts and cheapens the experience into more of a kiddie cartoon. Sigh. Still, decent acting and better production than the majority of crap rolling out lately. Good atmosphere, interesting characters and a solid storyline help.

I agree that uhd best serves vintage back-catalog titles captured on actual film, but I’ve seen the 4k format give plenty of newer digital affairs a surprisingly healthy boost in all the right ways, leaving the blu ray in the dust. While the blu ray of this title is no slouch, I’m still happy to check out the 4k disc to see what it brings to the table.

Really enjoyed the film, but not enough to buy it again. I'm still glad a UHD is coming out.

I watched this recently in UHD HDR and it looked great. Given that much of this takes place at night or in darkness I imagine the 1080p SDR blu-ray would not be as immersive. That's not to say it doesn't look good, I'm sure it does, but the dark look of the movie benefits from the addition of HDR.

I agree, showing too much and the overuse of CGI were my biggest complaints. I would have preferred less Dracula on screen, lurking in the shadows, and more practical effects when he is on screen.

I'm so glad I never bought the blu-ray. Even when it was less than $10 a few months back, I kept telling myself that a 4K would probably be on the way eventually. I'm glad I was right!

I like Dracula and saw this in theaters. It's pretty decent for what it is. Might just get it for the Dracula-ness.

Now up at SF with extras. It'll have Dolby Vision and Atmos, 2 new commentary tracks in addition to the previous one, and a new interview.

People seem to forget how drastic colors can change on SDR vs HDR, that holds more value to me than the 1080p vs 4K debate.
