Netflix's "Locke & Key" (Season 1)

If Fox also ends up being home for JJ Abrams new series "Alcatraz" I could see one hell of a fun night if they managed to have Fringe, Alctraz, and Locke & Key occupying a full night of sci-fi and horror. I've read "Locke & Key" and if done right, it could make one hell of a tv show, I just felt that it would have been much better on a cable network.

Miranda Otto To Star In Fox's 'Locke & Key'

Miranda Otto is set to headline Fox's drama pilot Locke & Key, from producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. Based on Joe Hill's comic, Locke & Key tells the story of Nina Locke (Otto) and her three children, Tyler, Kinsey, and Bode, who survive an unspeakable horror and attempt to rebuild their lives at Keyhouse, their family home in Lovecraft, Massachusetts. It is a mysterious New England mansion, with fantastic and transformative keys hidden inside its walls that are also being sought by a hate-filled and relentless creature with ties to the Locke family's past who will stop at nothing to accomplish his sinister goals. Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles creator Josh Friedman wrote the pilot, with Mark Romanek in negotiations to direct. 20th Century Fox TV, Kurtzman and Orci's K.O. Paper Products and DreamWorks TV are producing. Otto, repped by Gersh and Management 360, had been heavily pursued to do pilots and fielded several offers, including one for the TNT drama pilot Perception, before opting to do Locke & Key. Her credits include War of Worlds, the Lord of the Rings sequels and the ABC dramedy Cashmere Mafia.

I absolutely cannot wait for this show. Locke & Key is one of my favorite comic series. While I'd prefer the show on cable, just the fact that it is being developed is enough for me.

The only thing this kid is famous for to the best of my knowledge is dating that little hottie Katie Cassidy a few years back lol. I have no idea who the hell he is otherwise. But alright I guess. The only casting I am unsure of so far is his, but like I said I've never seen anything of his, he could be awesome or he could be............what 95% of hollywood is, just another pretty face, all style no substance, you know what I refer to as Michael Bay Syndrome. For everything Doctor Zhivago, there are 1000 Transformers.

Have to agree as the only thing I know that he does is voice Robin on Young Justice and that doesn't tell me anything about his acting.

It's pretty much a supernatural mystery show is a fairly decent cast based on a comic book by Stephen King's son Joe. Beyond that not much you really need to know, it's your fairly basic horror mystery. Stahl was excellent on Carnivale.

'Locke & Key' TV series in doubt?

Fox may not commission a full series based on the forthcoming Locke & Key pilot, it has been reported.

According to Deadline, the network may be reluctant to pick up science-fiction shows for its upcoming season.

"I hear Fox's new crop of dramas may not include a sci-fi entry this year as both Locke & Key and Alcatraz have cooled off," wrote the website's Nellie Andreeva.

Fox recently renewed Fringe for an additional season, sparking rumors that it may not have the budget to commission another sci-fi-themed program.

Published by IDW, Locke & Key is a supernatural drama inspired by the work of horror author HP Lovecraft. The story follows a family who move to a new home and discover mysterious keys hidden within its walls.

Sarah Bolger, Nick Stahl, Jesse McCartney, Ksenia Solo, Skylar Gaertner and Harrison Thomas will all star in the Locke & Key pilot, which has been directed by Otto Romanek.

I read about it "cooling off" the other day, and wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't picked up. FOX is the last network this should be on anyways.

Yeah not to surprised about Fox passing but I really hope them maybe passing on Alcatraz isn't true as it's one of my favorite pilots for next year and thought that had a really good chance of getting picked up.

'Exit Strategy' & 'Locke & Key' Still In Play

With two high-profile drama pilots, the Ethan Hawke starrer Exit Strategy and Locke & Key, conspicuously missing from the list of series pickups or rejects, speculation started swirling as to their fate. I hear both are still in play. Word is Exit Strategy may be held for retooling. I hear Fox fox brass felt the pilot had a lot of action and not too much character in it, so they had been looking to shift the focus on the show. As for Locke & Key, there is a rumor that Fox wants to make it into a big-event limited series/miniseries, but it is unclear if that would be financially feasible. Comedy Family Album is still TBD but is not getting an order at this time and may get pushed.

'Locke' Is Dead

A Locke & Key limited series/miniseries was a stretch, and it seems that it is not happening. The show is now heading to the death pile. And yes, comedy Outnumbered is dead too. Haven't heard definitively on Lost & Found but it is also presumed dead.
