Warner Bros Fandango (1985) (Warner Archive Collection) - April 12, 2022

The Kevin Costner film Fandango (1985) will be getting a Blu-ray release through Warner Archive on April 12th.

Quote:
Gardner Barnes (Kevin Costner) is a young Texan who has just graduated from college and is unsure of what to do next. Along with his friends, collectively known as the Groovers, Gardner embarks on a road trip to the Rio Grande as a last hurrah for the group. As the trip progresses, Gardner and his buddies, including Kenneth Waggener (Sam Robards) and Phil Hicks (Judd Nelson), struggle with their impending adulthood and the looming issue of the Vietnam War.

Would’ve preferred the classic artwork the film score soundtrack used

I don’t know, but I’ve read he wouldn’t speak to Kevin Reynolds after seeing it so I can’t imagine it changed much.

Spielberg didn't like it, but Tarantino absolutely loved it. Just more evidence that this is my kind of movie!

Seems like the obvious bonus feature would be the original short from which this movie is based. The only bonus is the theatrical trailer. doh!

Not just that, but when it was shown on network television it had extra scenes included. These scenes can be found on YouTube in poor vhs quality. A missed opportunity, but - hey! - at least we're getting it in HD at last!

I've been pestering Warner Archive for years across all forms of social media for Fandango, to the point they were deleting my comments.

I can't help but feel like Tim Robbins in Shawshank when he writes a letter a week and finally gets his support for the library.

I wish WAC would add bonus features, their releases are so underwhelming compared to pretty much every other label out there. It's a sad day when Paramount steps up their game and surpasses you. (I'm talking about the Paramount Presents line)

Cheers
