Default Mods: please kill this thread (duplicate) :(

Looks like the real cost of downloading (and not even in HD) is starting to appear...

I've said it before, and I'll say it again... Downloads will eat up bandwidth, drive up ISP prices, and piss every internet user off.

Please don't say it AGAIN like it has been the last 3 days. It will cause another repeat thread to go on and will ALL end up saying the same thing OVER again.

Why you think they keep pushing up speeds? Look at Verizon Fiber Optic for consumers..rediculous speeds. Obviously it's because of the demand for high speeds, they make it so we stay happy. Timewarner's jacked up price on high downloaders is because they can't make their speeds any higher and that's their way of making more money.

What's with your negative attitude? I'm not sure if it is possible on this board but on other boards, the thread starter can delete a thread if and only if nobody has replied to it yet. In such a situation, replying to the thread with a useless "use search function please" would prevent the thread starter from deleting their own thread.

You simply could have PM'ed the thread starter instead of sounding like a big whiner.

Thank God...I was afraid the world was coming to an end, from all the hysteria I've seen on this board this morning.

Most of us are new to Blu-ray and even more are new to HD, and this is one of the, if not best, forums on the net for information and discussion of all things blu-ray.
So, some of us "newbies" are bound to make a mistake or two. Like posting a thread topic, already in discussion...etc.

So ...aristotles....I appreciate your post, and hope other newbies will see it, and not be hesitant to post here again, because they don't want to deal with rude and arrogant posts. That other newbies will see there are many knowledgeable posters here that they (I include myself in "they") can learn from.

Thank you, and yes this article deserves its own thread.

You know, yes we are being bombarded with threads about downloads because Micro$haft and Apple as well as others are trying to shove them down our throats.

Don't listen to the negative ones here, this is a good article with some good quotes NOT SEEN before that I am aware of.

It provides good ammunition as some of us try to refute the fud others post elsewhere.

So THANK YOU,
I appreciate that you posted it.

Joe

The one thing that no one seems to consider with the increasing speeds of connection that ISPs are offering is that no matter how fast your connection to your ISP is once it leaves the network center of your ISP it is subject to the vagrancies of the internet. Your 100 Mbps connection might be receiving data that at one point passes thru a 56kbps link.

The funny thing is, if everyone stops posting repeat threads, we'll probably completely run out of things to talk about.

not really my man

I have verizon FIOS 15 mbps. where they run a fiber line to your house.

That's the future.

I kissed good bye to cable a long time ago. Cable sucks. Comcast throttle downloads , now time warner wants to charge more?

all BS

This might be a good thing, the Hd-DVD idiots that are all for downloading movies that are heavily compressed will have to pay even more. All those idiots for downloads are creating an even more expensive system. What morons. Popping in a blu will definitly be cheaper.
