This is a fantastic show from History Channel. It’s based on true events on an organization called Project Blue Book that was tasked with investigating UFO and othe runexplained phenomenon in the early 1950s.
The acting is terrific and it’s fun to see the retro 1950s setting. The mysteries in each episode are compelling and many have good twists that keep you coming back each week.
Season 1 is 10 episodes and just concluded earlier this week. It’s already been picked up for a Season 2 and is already in production.
If you are an X-Files fan especially, I highly recommend giving his one a try!

Can't say I disagree that the show had some interesting case stories, like X-Files. However, they took significant dramatic license with most of the key points in those cases and the way they portrayed Hynek's wife was disgraceful. They made her look foolish, childish and irresponsible when, the way he described her in real life, she was a wonderful and intelligent woman who didn't leave her small children alone to go shopping until the sun had gone down. His portrait of his wife was of a remarkable woman, not a silly young thing.
Basically, if you never studied the actual Project Blue Book, the show is pretty good, maintains a high level of interest, has good production value and decent story-lines. If you never read much about the people involved, the show is pretty good, depicting unique and well-drawn characters. But, if you did, you'll be watching it in horror as they rewrite history in nearly every way possible and our Dr. Hynek wanders through an alternate reality version his life story.
At least, to the silver lining, they are making a sci-fi show and putting it on tv. We need more of those.
Can't believe they crammed the whole show on 1 disk even though the case says 2 disks
I agree. Mine came with a slipcover, and on the back it just mentions having 10 episodes. But on the actual back of the Blu-Ray case it says “ 10 episodes on 2 discs”.
So when I opened mine, I momentarily freaked out upon seeing only 1 disc. So I threw the disc in my player, only to discover all 10 episodes really were on the 1 disc.
I also can’t believe History/ Lionsgate threw all 10 episodes on one disc.
I’m watching episode 1 right now and it looks good to my eyes. But I hope all 10 episodes on 1 disc doesn’t end up making some episodes look poor.
Other than this, I’m glad to have it in my collection. It’s such a good show.
I was surprised as well. To my dismay this also came in an eco-case and my case was crushed although the slip looks unaffected. There are noticeable compression artifacts on this release, although you may or may not notice, but we can expect that given that each episode is no more than 5GB.

I'm glad I held off ordering this. No way will I pay full price for ten episodes on 1 disc. Luckily, I DVR'd this whole series when it was on so I can live with that. Will buy this set when it is marked down in a few months. BOO, History Channel!!!
I don't have the best eye for compression and the such, but watching it right now, the PQ seems very high to me. Fabric textures and colors are really popping on my TV.
..when one considers that The X-Files had just four episodes on one disc and that the episodes were of a similar length..can't imagine why they would place 10 episodes of Project Blue book on one disc..talk about taking the cheap way out..even though i suppose that at the end of the day what counts is that they look good..
Just watched the first episode and the PQ is excellent don't ask me how Lionsgate
got all the 10 onto a disc but they seem to have with little quality loss.
I state that i'm using pretty high end equipment a Sony 2018 65" OLED TV and an OPPO UDP-203 Blu ray player.
They were largely able to get away with this due to going with lossy (DD 2.0) audio. The audio is taking up next to nothing and the video bitrate is more than sufficient if done properly. Based on those that have chimed in so far it sounds like a proper job was done. The alternative, a 1.75GB per episode digital download. No thank you very much.
