Default The polar opposites in your collection

What are some titles that you think show two very different sides of your personality and / or taste in film?

Here are a few of mine:

Was there a specific logic to your pairings? For instance what about By Brakhage vs My Neighbor Tortoro or The Decline of Western Civilization vs Titanic (or scratch that, both show Western civ sinking ).

Anyhoo, here's some of mine:

You could be pretty flexible regarding why you consider the movies to be opposites. The first two are the two extremes of commercial appeal. The second pair are the extremes of family friendly-ness. The third are indicative of my wide ranging music tastes. I think Madonna is pretty punk in some ways, though - but it was a fun comparison.

Superheroes are a fixture, but I've been known to enjoy mecha, magical girls, Ghibli... Space Jam and James Bond stand out. I generally have little interest in sports films, or foreign live-action.
