Default Harvest Moon: One World

Rising Star Games and Natsume have revealed Harvest Moon: One World will be released for Switch later this year, and that the game will give a different take on the franchise. The latest entry sees an overhaul of graphics and gameplay changes as a new engines is being used for the game. In Harvest Moon: One World players will be exploring a world filled with different villages and a number of challenges to beat while also managing the farm. The locations include beaches of Halo Halo and the snow capped mountains of Salmiakki. In this world, staple foods like tomatoes, cabbage, and tomatoes do not exist but a book is found in the that details that they once did, so it appears you will be travelling the world looking for lost food among other things.

Hiro Maekawa, President and CEO of Natsume, said:

“Harvest Moon: One World features a brand-new way of exploring Harvest Moon that seasoned players and new generations will both enjoy. Over the decades, Harvest Moon has evolved but has always retained the traditional, family-friendly farming fun that the franchise is known for. The new engine and new graphics will upgrade this experience for 2020. We are so excited to share more about the features of Harvest Moon: One World in the coming months.”

The last Harvest Moon game was Harvest Moon: Light of Hope. However, the Harvest Moon spirit has lived on in the Story of Seasons games as they are developed by former Harvest Moon studio Marvelous. When the two split Natsume kept the Harvest Moon brand, and so it will continue to create those games but competition will be fierce due to Story of Seasons games gaining in popularity. There is very little detail on what else to expect from Harvest Moon: One World but Natsume will provide details over the next few months.

Keep in mind this isn’t the same as the Harvest Moon you probably grew up with, that series is now called Story of Seasons. This new Harvest Moon series is "Harvest Moon" in name only.
