Default Kingdom Come Deliverance - Feb 13, 2018

I’m surprised there’s not a thread for this. Looks like a Skyrim-type game minus magic and monsters.

Looks really interesting, particularly the scale and part about historical accuracy of the locations.

I'm excited about this one. I have it preorded on XbX. I wish I had a PC.

For those expecting Skyrim, caution is advised as the map is only 16 square kilometers.

9-10 miles doesn't seem bad. Where would you put Skyrim at?

So minus the fun?

Seriously, the game looks slow, plodding, dull and boring to me.

10 miles is giant in scale. Skyrim may have more miles, but the mountains take up a huge portion of that map, just like in GTAV, where so much of the land cannot be traveled because of the massive mountains block the way.

I like the simulation combat here. I wouldn't mind a 3rd person view since they modeled the main character. Been following this one since it was first announced and still interested.

It's funny this has flown completely under the radar. I kind of feel like the media has blacklisted the game considering the outspoken game director that seems to have caused stir in the sjw world.

I'm backing this day 1 though, nothing like it out there really that is based in the real world. At least not on console.

It's free pre-order bonuses so of course it is nothing major.

The day 1 Patch was 20GB! That is a huge opening day patch.

It looks quite a bit more popular than I anticipated. It has thousands of viewers on Twitch. I barely had time to launch the game before leaving for work. A lot of stuff to read, so I did not get further than the initial few lines of dialog.

What I don't get about some of the reviews out there is that they are absolutely blasting the game for its bugs and glitches as if Elder Scrolls or The Witcher never had any issues! I didn't see them shaming those games too hard and they had huge teams and a shed load of cash to go with it. This is a big game from a relatively small studio of about 80 people and they ain't getting cut no slack. One could almost say that certain media may be trying to purposely give it bad reviews given Vara's support for gamergate. Maybe I need to take my tinfoil hat off. But you never know with the media these days.

Having said that did these reviews cover the pre day 1 patch code or were they reviewing code with the day 1 patch fixes? Because the statement put out yesterday seems to indicate that it is much more stable than the game that shipped on the disc.

Quote:
The production realities of console game development mean that ‘release’ version has to be submitted some three months before the actual release date. We could have used these three months to get some rest, or we could use it to create some additional content and sell it to you as DLC, but we went back to the version-to-be-released and worked on it and tweaked it and polished it and the results are obvious: quests are more balanced, RPG progression is smoother, the game runs faster and is very stable; every facet of the game got some polish.
The drawback of course is that most of the data in the old build were replaced and have to be downloaded as a patch. At a hefty size, it’s going to take some time and it’s a shame. Still, we strongly believe that after a four year wait, it will pay off to wait a little bit longer while the Day 1 patch is downloading. Trust me, it will deliver the awesome experience YOU deserve!
All I know is that I'm currently waiting for the day 1 patch to install, only 115mins to go.... Then I can see for myself if it's any good.

It's going to be a sleeper hit. Our store had FIVE copies on PS4 and FOUR on Xbox, all sold out by 9am this morning, we sold the first copy just after midnight so there was at least 1 person excited to get it haha.

I don't think stores were expecting it to sell at all. But here we are.
