Question If you could Go back in time...

If you could go back in time to watch a movie of your choice on opening day, what would it be?

I think Raiders and Star Wars are up there. Maybe something with a great twist like Usual Suspects as well

Probably films that are lost and that I'll never see, like The Cat Creeps, London After Midnight, the early cut of the Chaney Phantom of the Opera, uncut version of Freaks etc.

I'd go watch Scream 4 in a big city theatre opening night where audience reaction is guaranteed.

My theatre was less than half full and due to the strict rules was quiet.

Probably The Empire Strikes Back. The original Star Wars would be cool, but by the time Empire came around, the world was obsessed. Seeing Empire and witnessing the big Father reveal with a crowd on opening night would be insane.

I've seen most of the modern classics like Lord of the Rings opening night. Always glad when I make the effort.

I get a kick out of everyone saying Star Wars. If you had gone on opening day you would have been in a half empty theater! I was in high school when it came out, and it just wasn't on the radar. It was released in late May and the word of mouth and the reviews built over the summer. By fall it was a huge sensation. I remember waiting forever in line to see it that September, but that was after it had been out for sometime.

Opening day would have been a big snooze for that film.

I also wonder how the sound system from the 70s would sound to our modern day ears. It might fall flat.

Empire Strikes Back for the above reasons.

Alien is a close second, it would be great to witness a crowd reaction to the chest busting scene.

Also, the uncomfortable non-stadium seats and tiny screens.
