Too many to mention, but here's a few off the top of my head:
"The Exorcist" - "Tubular Bells" (Mike Oldfield) ![]() "Apocalypse Now" - "Ride Of The Valkyries" (Wagner) "Almost Famous" - ending, "Tangerine" (Led Zeppelin) & "Feel Flows" (Beach Boys) "Pulp Fiction" - "Misirlou" (Dick Dale) "Trainspotting" - ending, "Born Slippy" (Underworld) "Goodfellas" - pretty much the entire soundtrack, but for me, "Jump Into The Fire" (Harry Nilsson) and "My Way" (Sid Vicious) stand out. "127 Hours" - "Festival" (Sigur Ros) "Inglourious Basterds" - "Rabbia e Tarantella" (Ennio Morricone). Even though it was already used in a 70s Italian film, this was a memorable way for QT to wrap "IB" up. "Blue Velvet" - "In Dreams" (Roy Orbison) "The candy colored clown they call the sandman..." There's plenty more that I love. For me, music is a huge component of making a film memorable. |

Beethoven's 9th and "Singing in the Rain" in A Clockwork Orange.
"It's Hip to be Square" in American Psycho. "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms" (Original recording but not an original song) in Night of the Hunter. "Somebody to Love" in A Serious Man. "We'll Meet Again" in Doctor Strangelove (Look, Kubrick is the master of the closing song). "Stuck in the Middle With You" in Resevoir Dogs. "Farewell" and "Fare Thee Well" (different songs) in Inside Llewyn Davis. "Journey of the Sorcerer" in several versions of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. |

Here's a follow up question to this thread: does it bother or annoy you when a movie uses a song that was already memorably used in a previous film? Examples: "Dirty Dancing" used "Be My Baby", but I think of "Mean Streets" when I hear the song. Recent example: "Steve Jobs" used "Shelter From The Storm" over the end credits, but whenever I hear that song, "Jerry Maguire" comes to mind, and even though I loved "Steve Jobs", that kind of took me out of the moment that the film's ending had created. Maybe it's just me...
The song "Rabbia e Tarantella" I mentioned in a previous post didn't bother me because I never saw the Italian movie it first appeared in. ![]() |

I wasn't bothered, I mean it worked well for the scene, but it did take me out of the film a bit when I heard Requiem For Soprano in Godzilla, since it's just so iconically 2001.
