Yup, I posted in the 13 Hours thread, but I got this trailer. And nice to have confirmation that it is a "blood relative" set in the same universe as Cloverfield (if not a direct sequel)

Very cool teaser trailer. Great cast. Nice to see John Gallagher, Jr. in another movie. Loved him in Short Term 12. And the guy who wrote Whiplash co-wrote it. I have a very good feeling about this movie.

My best friend just woke me up out of my sleep by calling me eight times to tell me the news as I dragged her to see Cloverfield 5 times when it came out. Her boyfriend dragged her to see 13 Hours and she said when she saw the name pop up she jumped and started telling him she needed to call me and here we are.

Hmm. Judging from the teaser, plot outline, and how this came out of nowhere 2 months before release, I get the sense that this was intended as an original film then someone realized this could fit into the Cloverfield universe and would be a good marketing ploy. So they're calling it a "spinoff".

No involvement from Matt Reeves or Drew Goddard?

Regardless, it still looks great with an intriguing teaser and cool cast. Although I think they should've used the Tiffany version of "I think we're alone now".

Mary Elizabeth Winstead gave an interview to Collider yesterday and the last two questions were about Valemcia aka 10 CLOVERFIELD Lane

How was your experience making Valencia with Dan Trachtenberg?

WINSTEAD: That was really cool and really fun. It’s one of those Bad Robot, can’t say anything about the script type of projects, but it was really fun. It’s another really contained film. It’s just three actors, in the whole thing. It’s me and John Goodman and John Gallagher, Jr. I get to be a little bad-ass in it, which was really fun. It had been a few years since I’d done something like that, so that was really cool. I won’t give away too much, but I’m excited about it, for sure.

Have you gotten to see it yet?

WINSTEAD: Just bits and pieces. I was at Bad Robot the other day, and they showed me the trailer for it, which looks really cool. I’m excited. It’s going to be really interesting. It’s basically my character wakes up in a cellar and I’m being kept down there by John Goodman. He tells me that basically the world is over outside because there’s been a nuclear fall-out. It does have similarity to Faults, in some ways, because you don’t know who’s telling the truth or who to believe. There’s a lot of, who’s manipulating who, and all of that. Tonally, it’s very different, but it has some of those same themes.

Ya when first watching the trailer i had the same worries, but then noticed at the end it says it will be in IMAX so maybe not.

Pumped. Won't be surprised if 95% of the movie takes place in the bunker though.
