Awesome. I can remove The Postman Always Rings Twice from my DVD outlook list. It never went on sale anyway.

Glad they're being released separately too. I just want the '46 Turner & Garfield one.

I have only seen the 1981 version... which was ok... but I will blind buy the 1946 version when it is available. I have always heard that it is a very good movie. The classics just keep on coming.

The original American version is very good, but the remake is completely underrated IMO. It also has one of the hottest sex scenes ever. For the right price, and depending on good PQ/AQ, I may pick up both.

Love the original, but I've never seen the remake (mainly because the DVD was pan & scanned ). Always love seeing classic B&W films on Blu.

Both links seem to just be placeholders with no date, just a "sign up to be notified when available".

Awesome and thrilled it isn't a Double pack! I will pre-order both for sure.

I wish it was being released now... these are hot steamy summer noirs! (Still better late than never.

You might want to check again,The Duke. The release date is there

As i stated before, movies are not available for pre-order,yet;hence the sign up to be notified when available note.I believe they will be up for pre-order within the next few days (maybe even hours, who knows).

If this is any indication of what we might be getting in '13 from Warner, than we have a lot of reasons to get excited about!

I have always heard of these but never seen them. I want to see the earlier one. How is MGM with older movies?

These are Warner bd releases, not MGM.
Warner controls the early MGM films due to its purchase of Turner years ago.
(so even though you see the MGM clearly on the original poster artwork, it doesn't mean anything as far as today)

The 1946 version is fantastic. I love it when Fred Flintstone gets the crap beat out of him. The Italian version, Ossessione is good too.

Can't wait to own the 1981 version. I'm a big fan of the original Cain novel, and I love old 40's/50's film noir, but I never really cared for the 1946 version.

Default The Postman Always Rings Twice (1981)

I'm anxious to see the 1981 version with Lange and Nicholson on blu-ray. While I like both versions, the remake is more sexually charged. You can't beat lowlife Nicholson here and sex pot Lange. Another great flick out of a final 50 or so BDs I'm waiting for.

"Ahh... You must be Beatrix. I can see the attraction. I remember when Bill was only five years old, I took him to the movies. It was a movie starring Lana Turner. "The Postman Always Ring Twice" with John Garfields. And whenever she would appear on the screen, Bill would begin to suck his thumb to an obscene amount. And I knew from this very moment, that this boy was a fool for blondes. Mmm..."
