Default Scream (1996) / Scream 2 (1997) / Scream 3 (2000) / Scream 4 (2011) 4K

The last time Scream 1-3 was released, was in 2011. And these wasn't the greatest transfers made to Blu-ray. These movies are in desperate need of a full-on restoration. And when these wonderful movies make it to 4K someday, hopefully they'll be fully restored. Still can't believe these haven't been re-released yet and been restored. Who owns the Scream movies now? Is it still Lionsgate? Or is it Spyglass Media Group? Can the Scream movies be released on 4K, with all the trouble with the Weinsteins?

Scream is my all-time favorite horror movie series and I'd LOVE it for these classics films to be released and enjoyed for a new generation in the best possible way and the lastest format. Don't tell me I'm the only one who has been asking why the Scream movies hasen't yet been released on 4K yet?

The last time released the Unrated Scream version was on LD. I had a copy of that I duped to S-VHS -- years ago. That version was never ported over to DVD/BD/DigitalHD.

Supposedly the fan made unrated version by fanres is supposed to be a pretty solid experience in 1080p. I haven't had the chance to watch it yet but heard good things and that it's the best way to view it as of today.

If by some miracle they release the Unrated version on 4k it would be an easy day 1 for me though.

It was ported over to DVD but only in certain countries. The Japanese DVD (Which i own) has both cuts on the disc.

These are basically guaranteed on 4K if Scream 5 actually gets made.

I also have the Unrated Directors Cut on DVD. It was sold in a steelbook here in Denmark, although the quality ain't the best and it's in PAL, so the voices are speeded up and I hate that!

I really hope whoever has the rights to the 3 first movies will release them on 4K Ultra HD with a new restoration.

I don't believe they were ever on the Lionsgate slate to be done... I believe the odds are even worse now that Paramount has taken over Miramax's home distribution...

With them being with Paramount I wonder if it’s possible for Scream Factory to pick them up.

Miramax would have the ultimate say... Don't hold your breath. Especially since it looks like Paramount is just rebranding the previous Lionsgate discs.

It'd be nice if it were done for Scream's 25th anniversary next year or when the fifth entry drops in Jan '22.

i'm not counting my chickens before they hatch on this they seem like there a studio that doesn't care about certain titles i mean look at the kevin smith collection. yes i know an acquired taste set of films but these films are cult classics and like other miramax films they are just reissues but these films need new transfers. instead we get the same dated transfers and jay and silent bob strike back looks like it was just an upscale.
