The latest Jun Ji-Hyun drama, "Legend Of The Blue Sea" will finally be released in Korea at the end of the month . . .
That's the good news. The bad news is that Yesasia wants $399.99 for the blu-ray set and (here's the kicker) there's NO ENGLISH SUBTITLES. Yes. You read me right. They want $400 for a 20 hour drama. The corresponding DVD set is now "out of print" even though it won't be released until the end of the month (you figure it out, I can't) - guess that doesn't matter, though, because that didn't have English subtitles EITHER. How do you say "pathetic" in Korean? |

That price is insane, what's the thinking behind that? Did they print 5 copies?
What is even more worrying is the no English subtitles, it better not become a new trend. I got the cheap dvdset from Malaysia earlier this year 'cause I couldn't wait to watch it, but the PQ is not great of course, too compressed - kinda choppy when camera is moving (Fine when nothing in the frame is moving). I do own the lavish dvdset of "You Who Came From the Stars" which I'm very happy with (well, the sound could be better) and was hoping to get the similar set of "Legend..". But I guess not. However, I thought the show was not as good as "You Who Came.." - the same formula, but the drama and the characters didn't quite grip me as much, so when it ended I wasn't very moved by it (like I was with "You.."). Still I want to give it another chance, but I guess the only way now for me is Viki (no I'm not watching that cheap dvd again), at least it's HD. And oh yes, Jun has never been more beautiful, she just gets more gorgeous with age. |

Same here, except I got the Singapore set just so I could see the thing. It's right off the air, and very often will start getting jerky for a few minutes halfway through the episode, as if the software they were using to capture the stream wasn't keeping up. Watchable and better than nothing, I guess... but, yes, I was hoping for a companion set to "Stars" as well. As you said, guess not.

Sorry for bumping this old thread, but as the blu-ray set has no subs, I'm looking for a DVD set. As I understand from the reactions, the Malaysian and Singapore set aren't great, is there a set which is better?
