Pans Labyrinth with sleve cover? - Blu-ray Forum

I just saw a Pan's Labyrinth bluray at HMV but it has a lenticular cover (occupying the whole area of the front box)....is this an HMV exclusive?

Its a part of Alliance's 'Blu-ray Essentials' line, which includes both a Blu-ray disc & standard DVD of the film. Wal-Mart also carries them. Others available like this are The Mist, Kill Bill 1 & 2, Gangs of New York, Memento, The Punisher, The Golden Compass and Journey to the Center of the Earth.

Does anyone know if the PQ in this version is improved over the original Canadian release?

The blu disc is exactly the same, no difference.

Sorry for dead thread revival, but someone just passed on a copy of the Canadian blu of Pan's Labyrinth. People that know, how does it compare to the first US disc (not Criterion) and UK disc? I see that the encode is listed on this site as MPEG-4 and not VC-1 so it's at least technically a different encode (unless it's wrong info).

Sorry I took forever to find my disc and check. I have confirmed the Alliance/EOne version is only VC-1 like the others.
