The place where filmmaker Oskar Alegria grew up in became completely submerged in water after a dam was constructed near it. In Zumikiri, he attempts to travel back to his childhood despite the fact that the place where it all happened is now gone. He builds himself a cabin on an isolated riverbank directly across the area where it should have been and lives in it for four months, keeping himself alive through two hens and a small vegetable garden. Though the only things left that are familiar to him are the trees of his childhood and the skies of his previous home, he conquers his past.
