Default PlayStation Indies

https://blog.playstation.com/2020/07...ing-new-games/

Pretty cool stuff! My two favorite games from the PS5 event were indies (Kena Bridge of Spirits and Little Devil Inside). I'm excited to see the fruits of Shuhei Yoshida's labor in the indie department. Hopefully it will lead to a better curation of indies and cut down on all the garbage that has flooded the PS Store.

I’m glad they didn’t call it something cringe like Nindies

I think these are the first 2 of the 9 indies that Shuhei was talking about.

Indy titles are going to become on the level of AAA titles of old with how amazingly well the game engines are expanding their feature sets and simulating motion capture like animations and so on. Not perfectly, but good enough.

The one I wish they would hurry up and announce is "Sky: Children of the Light" by That Game Company (makers of Journey, Flower, Flow, etc). They released it on mobile last year and its supposedly releasing on console sometime this year. If you haven't seen or played it, the game is absolutely beautiful and the music is just wow! Its obviously the evolution of what they did with Journey but wow is it great! Only problem is I can't stand playing it on phone without physical buttons! If you haven't seen it or tried it out, I highly recommend it!

^ I think this was announced at an Apple event, but I forgot about it after that

beside F.I.S.T. none of these games look appealing to me, indies are so generic

Haven does look like a nice mix though, it’s turn based with Gravity Rush/No Man’s Sky art style and exploration(?), could be interesting I guess

Sky could really take advantage of the Dualsense controller if they choose to do so.

I think Where The Heart Is could carry some emotional weight as well.
