It's a shame this movie did so poorly in theaters, I love Don Bluth films. This title never even had the dignity of a standard Blu-ray release. What a shame. The visuals would really benefit from HDR and I would buy this day one. Not even close to perfect, but a very underrated film.

Yup, I've still got that one on good-old-fashioned DVD. At this point they should just go straight to a new UHD transfer. I believe the 20th Anniversary is coming up.

Man, I would be beyond happy for just a bluray release of this. It’s a really underrated film. Hopefully one day this will make it onto a HD disc.

Next year in June is the 20th anniversary of this movie. I would buy this day one and I would give a kidney for it. I often forget about this, but it really is one of my favorites and I'd have to put it in my top ten.

This would be a good candidate for 4K, but unless Fox - before Disney axed their HE division - had planned to poop out a Blu-Ray or UHD-BD release this year, I don't know if it will ever go beyond DVD and HD streaming, as Disney now controls it and they probably won't want to go beyond having it on their streaming service.

We took our daughter to see this when she was about 4. It was entirely too story-heavy for her but my husband and I liked it a lot. I'm honestly surprised this wasn't one of the first Blu-rays, but to not be on the format at all? Does Paramount own this now? (I know they don't, but come on...)

I'm so glad I am not the only one wishing for this I have it on DVD and the soundtrack on CD, I keep rewatching it all the time, and it never get old. It has one of the most incredible picture transfers and DTS soundtracks on DVD I've ever seen and heard. I really want to see how even more incredible will it look on 4K (even if it's an upscale) HDR and lossless surround sound (especially if it is Atmos or DTS:X).

I think the only way it would ever get even a vanilla Blu-ray release at this point in time is if Disney (who now owns the rights to all of Fox's films) would suddenly decide to sell the rights of this and Anastasia to GKIDS, just like Disney did with the Studio Ghibli rights? Wishful thinking, since I can't see why Disney, out of all studios, would ever need these two particular films with the infinite catalog of other animated films they have, and GKIDS has released vintage animated films on Blu-ray others have refused to do, like Perfect Blue and Only Yesterday. Plus it will come with the nice bonus of destroying the notion that Anastasia is now a Disney Princess

I see no point why members keep making countless threads of this. It's not going to get the movie released.

This is not a petition to Disney. This is a wish list thread for people to post titles they'd love to see on 4k. Not a place for elitist, insulting comments to other members who simply like creating 4k cases and WISHING certain titles were upgraded.

Maybe we should do whatever it took to finally get the remaining DreamWorks films to come out. I mean, Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas, an even bigger money loss ($125M vs. $100M) than this, is already on Blu-ray since last month. In other news, Swan Princess is coming out for the first time ever on Blu-ray later this year.

It's not all lost yet, unless Disney decides to release this itself and Atmouses the audio track

I'd still be ok with that. At least it would finally get an upgrade.

This is superb animation and totally deserves a 4k release.

Sadly, Disney wont be releasing this on physical, not even on blu-ray.

Come to think of it, it's probably for the best that Disney won't be the one to do it. While I still absolutely want it on Blu-ray, this film is one that the Disney label just not suits it in any way whatsoever. Even if they end up doing it, it would feel so wrong seeing Disney's name adhered to it. Having said that, I would recommend anyone interested in this film to get one of the existing DVDs while they're still cheap, they have an incredible, ground-shaking DTS audio track and it has a pristine all-digital (if I'm not mistaken) video transfer that's really top-of-the-line for the DVD format (well, amongst the best I've ever personally seen).

I'm wondering if the Bluth vs Disney era is at play here. The mouse may still be salty for Bluth eating their lunch and refuses to pay him anything he is owed for a new physical release.

Any possibility they'll license it out?

Know it's probably no, but might as well ask.

Please god. Such a shame this bombed in theaters.

Picture quality and audio are impressive on the DVD, but this wonderful film deserves further preservation
