Planning to finally see this tomorrow. Really surprised by how quickly this one is getting a release considering it just came out in theaters on March 18th. Hoping the cover stays like that without the usual RT logo added.

Yeah that is pretty soon to release on Blu-ray, can't really complain but that is surprising. Probably didn't think it'd be a big hit like it was and were going to shuffle it to BD as soon a possible, Who knows. Wish it'd come to 4K at some point, but I'll likely buy this anyway.

I think this has a pretty strong chance of a UHD from the A24 shop.

Haven't seen this yet, but I love Ti West's The House of the Devil and The Innkeepers, like most his other stuff, and this is getting the best overall responses of his career, so this will be an easy blind buy for me...

...but should I hold out for an exclusive 4K from the A24 shop?

I have a hunch that both this (X) and Red Rocket will be forthcoming as A24 Shop exclusive releases. I'm not basing that on anything other than my gut feeling.

But, since I loved this so much, I'm going to buy this Lionsgate release also, and will just have to double-dip if/when A24 announces their exclusive. I really hope this Lionsgate release comes with a slipcover. Do all A24 Lionsgate releases include slipcovers or is it one of those no rhyme or reason it being included or not situations?

Most if not all do, the rare exception being that brief period where LionsGate did BD-Rs for some of the A24 releases (Climax, Under The Silver Lake, etc).

X will certainly have one.

the sound design and music mixing is really good and eerie, I hope the Dolby Atmos mix is included on either, or both the Blu-ray, and possible 4K UHD edition.

Preorder price of $39.99 right now. What's the deal with that? I was expecting half that, especially with no 4K and it isn't a SteelBook or anything. Wondering what that's about...

The price will more than likely drop by release day. Some people preorder to lock in the free shipping.
