Synopsis:
In 1306: Scotland's new king, Robert the Bruce (Angus Macfadyen), is on the run after suffering a devastating defeat against the English army and having received a bounty on him. Forsaken by the Scottish nobility and badly injured, he is hunted by the same soldiers he once led. A young boy discovers him in the forest, whose father died fighting alongside the Scottish king and whose mother Morag (Anna Hutchison) now provides the hunted with refuge. After a long and cold winter, Robert gradually regains his strength and decides to take a final blow against Englang, which is to change Scotland's history forever.
