Default Fonzo (Tom Hardy To Play Al Capone)

http://deadline.com/2016/10/tom-hard...nk-1201845089/

Quote:
Tom Hardy is attached to play all-time American gangster Al Capone in Fonzo, a new project written and to be directed by Josh Trank. Russell Ackerman and John Schoenfelder of Addictive Pictures and Lawrence Bender are producing the pic, which centers on Capone in the final days of his life. The real-life Capone died in 1947 at age 48.

CAA and WME Global are repping U.S. rights and Bloom is selling international at the upcoming American Film Market.

The pic, now in prepoduction centers on Alfonse Capone, the ruthless businessman and bootlegger who ruled Chicago with an iron fist before being famously taken down by Eliot Ness. After nearly a decade of imprisonment, dementia rots his mind and his past becomes present as harrowing memories of his violent and brutal origins melt into his waking life.

As much as I swore I would never watch anything with Hardy in it again after his involvement with the movie LONDON ROAD, the subject matter ,along with my grudging acceptance that he is one of the best actors of this generation, means that this is a must watch for me..

Yep, thumbs up for Josh Trank. I'm going with the guys best work to 'judge' him, which is "Chronicle". Not "Fantfourstic", where the fight between him and the studio destroyed the movie.

Josh Trank directs Tom Hardy as Al Capone?

Give me a break!

I like Tom Hardy, but this is a disaster in the making, much like Legend from last year.

If you're referring to the typo, then they are a dime a dozen around here. So...give me a break!

I didn't think Trank would get another high-profile directorial gig so soon. Good for him.

People already moaning over Josh Trank, get over it. He's done one good, one bad, he's at least neutral. In my books he's proven somewhat talented, which is more than most.

Chronicle is terrible also. So he is 0 for 2.

Tom Hardy as Al Capone is scary a shit. Especially considering the promise of this movie. Don't even google the disease Capone had. Trust me. It's like Josh Trank is making a body-horror mob film, which makes sense because he tried that with Fan4stic. But yeah, I almost drop my drink when Hardy's Al randomly popped up on my tabs.
