Default PS4 Pro vs PS5/PC

Although a PS5 isn't directly referenced here. It's actually comparing Detroit Become Human PS4 Pro vs a PC running up to Native 4K. I think it's pretty interesting to see how good of a job PS4 Pro did taking that lower pixel count and recreating to a native image.

I think this is interesting because it also shows the creme de la creme of PC specs, an RTX 2080 Ti struggling to run at a stable 60fps with the settings turned up and that's a $1k+ GPU. A PS5 meanwhile will more than likely employ some of the tricks PS4 Pro used where needed but ultimately the native 4K image is the standard that we want to have devs hit for the cleanest image possible. As the video above points out, checkerboard rendering isn't a magic tool that's perfect in simulating native 4K but just like DLSS on PC, it's something much better than what a lower resolution can sometimes attain by itself.

So to me at least, i'd like to think Sony is aware of this as they go into the next gen and continue to develop on all the tricks and techniques learned this gen to bring them over and enhance them on PS5 where needed. I still believe a PS5 Pro will launch by 2023/2024 though for enthusiasts and target circa 15 Teraflops. The next gen after that should launch at even possibly double as PC undergoes another generational leap by then and prices reduce.

Honestly an amazing game. There's a few janky moments for the graphics given how amazing they managed to make it all look up until those. Personally i do hope we may have a boosted version or patch playable on PS5. I'd love to revisit in 4K.

I'm more interested in what or if Quantric Dream next project is for PS5. David Cage and his company were MIA at the software reveal event last week.

But also Quantic Dream is now a independent dev.

I think whatever we do get will push next gen hardware and interactivity under a completely new design philosophy to give us an experience not possible on current gen or prior. It really should push the envelope of what you can expect imo.

Assuming it's specced for next gen only level hardware.
