EXCLUSIVE: Alex Wolff, who was last seen in Sony’s blockbuster film Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and the sleeper hit Hereditary has been cast in director Cory Finley’s comedy Bad Education. Hugh Jackman, Ray Romano and Allison Janey are already attached to the project which hails from Automatik and Sight Unseen.

Mike Makowsky wrote the script based on his own high school experience. The plot follows a superintendent (Jackman) of the school district who works for the betterment of the student’s education while embezzling public funds to live the life he wants. Details on Wolff’s character is being kept under wraps.

Fred Berger (La La Land) and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones (Midnight Special) of Automatik are producing the pic with Eddie Vaisman, Julia Lebedev, and Oren Moverman from Sight Unseen.

BLOOM is handling international sales, while Endeavor Content is repping sales in the US.

Wolff’s upcoming projects include Polly Draper’s Stella’s Last Weekend and The Cat and The Moon, which he wrote, directed, and stars in.

Wolff is repped by CAA, Definition Entertainment, and Untitled Entertainment.

Good grief, Hereditary was just plain awful. I'm hoping Alex Wolff will be directed much better in this. He was decent in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.

My second favourite movie of the year. Definitely worth a watch, as Jackman and Janney give stupendous performances.

I don’t really get the buzz about this... thought it a pretty average. Definitely glad I didn’t have to pay money to see it in theaters

I saw this a few days ago on HBO on Demand. Really well acted and sense of character/place, and of course nice to get to see more new movies now. Also cool to see something like this shot on film, though I’m guessing their plan was to release in theaters and it was acquired by HBO.

I thought it was a good movie. Jackman and Janney were excellent.
I'd rate it 7/10

For some reason during the movie I thought it was directed by Jason Reitman but it wasn't.

I watched this several days ago and enjoyed it. I did not realize this was based on a true story. Great acting and well produced movie from HBO.
