iTunes 4K Purchase Not Transferring 4K to MA?

Hello,

I only recently started purchasing digital copies, etc. so maybe someone can help me out. I had previously redeemed a code for the Die Hard 5-movie set on Blu-ray through Vudu maybe a few years ago.

Back in March, I gifted myself "Die Hard with a Vengeance" in 4K through iTunes. It did not transfer to my Movies Anywhere account in 4K. I was okay with that. I'm still not too familiar with the weird iTunes/MA/Vudu transfer science.

But I saw "Die Hard 2" in 4K is on sale through iTunes this week so I gifted myself that as well. I redeemed it through iTunes today and was surprised to see it transferred to MA in 4K.

So why did one of these movies transfer to MA in 4K when the other didn't? Is there a way to push "Die Hard with a Vengeance" through to MA in 4K?

I believe that originally "gifted" movies did not grant 4K MA rights (where applicable) but that recently changed - so previous "gifted" purchases remained in HD but more recent ones will transfer in 4K.

Thanks. See? How do people even learn all these rules? It's like they keep making things up. You need a bloody flow chart to keep track of everything.
