So this is not a complete list, nor is it a list that has only Oscar winners, some are just guilty pleasures that are good movies and deserve an upgrade.
There are some here that I don't know why it doesn't have a Blu-ray option yet... 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1954) As Good As It Gets (1997) ***needs re-released Bel Ami (2012) The Blue Lagoon (1980) Breach (2007) The Cabinet of Caligari (1962) The Curse of the Jade Scorpion (2001) The Dreamers (2003) Encino Man (1992) Flight of the Navigator (1986) Fools Rush In (1997) The Gift (2000) Girl, Interrupted (1999) The Gods Must Be Crazy (1980) The Gods Must Be Crazy 2 (1989) Havoc (2005) Hollywood Ending (2002) Idiocracy (2006) ***why is this not a Blu yet? lol Johnny Got His Gun (1971) ***hello Shout Factory? Man on the Moon (1999) Max Fleischer's Color Classics - Somewhere in Dreamland (1930-1946) ***DVD released 2002 Mumford (1999) Murder on the Orient Express (1974) ***no US release to coincide with the remake? wow A Night at the Opera (1935) ***blasphemous this wasn't released with Marx Brothers blu-ray collection Open Range (2003) ***OMG - why, why, why has this movie not been Blu-ray'd yet?????????? Pay it Forward (2000) Pink Floyd - The Wall (1982) Quiz Show (1994) The Return to the Blue Lagoon (1991) The Shaggy Dog (1959) The Shaggy Dog (2006) Shattered Glass (2003) Small Time Crooks (2000) Song of the South (1946) ***spare me the controversy surrounding this film; if films were not allowed to be controversial no film would ever be made - only because of 'Disney today' is it not released since 1986 in the states, yet it has been released elsewhere since. The current Disney CEO and public face could come out before the start of the movie and release a statement of 'how Disney does not promote slavery, etc..., but the historical significance of the film of the time precludes some of the views expressed back in 1946 and tried to show how life was during the Reconstruction period; and how James Basket received an honorary Academy Award; but also due to the controversial premier, Walt Disney himself did not attend the movie opening in Atlanta due in part to other cast members not allowed to participate"... It 'could' be done, just Disney today doesn't want to, which is sad. Strange Days (1995) They Shall Not Grow Old (2018) ***released elsewhere no US release Thirteen (2003) Thirteen Days (2000) ***why such a limited release, needs re-released Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada (2005) ***underrated Tommy Lee Jones movie Twilight (1998) ***Newman and Hackman together Walt Disney Treasures (2001-2009) ***ALL OF THEM Welcome to the Rileys (2010) Feel free to post your additions and comments as well. But this is what I'd like to see out there, everyone has different tastes especially in movies. |
