Default Ok So There is One Way Streaming is Better than Blu-ray

Here's the thing. I have a love/hate affair with streaming. I wish we could have an equal ground, but streaming is effectively killing physical media. I went to a Best Buy on the other side of town and for the first time ever, I could not find the movie section! I finally found that they had shrunk their entire movie section down to just a single row in the back of the store. Black Friday 2019 may be the last year for getting cheap physical at Best Buy which makes me sad.

But I will give credit where credit is due. There is one way streaming is better than physical. For the first time in my life, my apartment is in danger of getting flooded. Worst case scenario, I could lose everything. The Arkansas river has caused devastated flooding here. I live an uncomfortable 2 miles from the river. I thought I dodged a bullet, but the creeks and streams around here have nowhere to drain and they are backing up into people's yards. And of all times, the forecast is for heavy 2-4" rain this week.

I've been collecting since 2001 and it would pain me to lose all that along with my Marvel comics collection. I have cloes to 3,000 blu-rays and dvds. At least with streaming, it's all in the cloud. It can't be physically damaged. Who knows, maybe a bunch of floating discs can still be played. lol I need to spent tonight really going through and redeeming all those digital copies just in case.

Please send some prayers our way. Hopefully Mother Nature will spare us heavy rains and not make a bad situation worse.
