Default Too awkward a layout?

One floor of my tiny house is the kitchen, bathroom, my elderly father's room. The basement is rectangular but then picture the letter L. On the long side of it, it's furnished with a TV. On the small end is my bed. The laundry room etc are on the opposite side of the wall.

Anyway, yesterday I got a steal on a 120-inch projection screen and a complete surround sound system some rich guy was getting rid of. Now given the narrowness of my basement I've realized the best wall seems to be the one in my "bedroom". But that means I'd take out the TV and (when friends can safely return to my house, they'd pass my bed haha. Does that seem like too strange of a layout to do in order to accommodate a home theater? I was realizing that people would see a bed if I lived in a studio apartment so I guess maybe it's just a personal hang up?

I wouldn't put a 120" projection screen in my bedroom. A screen that size should be in a living room or a dedicated HT room, but not in a bedroom. It will be way too big.

It’s not just a bedroom though. Did you even read the OPs post?

As for the set up, it sounds like what you are thinking is the best for your setup. Just make sure your bed is made when you have guests over.

Would putting the screen at either the top or bottom corner of the “L” shaped room work. You couch would then go across the room from side to side. That might be an option for you.

There's plenty of ways to screen your sleeping area if it really bothers you. Does your bed have much access room around it? Back in my single days, my studio apartment was close to what you describe with the long section of the L containing the living area and kitchen and half of the foot of the L having the bedroom and bathroom. I separated the foot of the L down the middle with a wall of 6 matching bookshelves back to back, 3 to each side so one side was the living room and the other the bedroom. It was easy to fill the living room side with books movies and records and the bedroom side with pics, clothes, etc. and the shelves reached virtually to the ceiling. Plants on both sides helped make it seem roomier somehow. Had four or five folks over all the time and it worked well till I got hitched and we needed more space. Nobody ever even had to see the bed unless on the way to the bathroom. Course I'll add, this was the oughts and a 32" tv was pretty big and what we had in at the living room side!

These are helpful replies, thank you!

Here is a slightly dated photo of the basement. Basic TV layout remains the same at present. The projector screen could go where that back window is, or around the corner to the right (which is where my bed currently is). There is an air duct near that door though so that may impede hanging a projector because it would have to drop a lot lower to project underneath it.
