Image puts out exactly what Sony gives 'em. Should be a solid transfer overall.

What!? No real thread? Yes, as you probably know by now, it is widescreen (2.35 :1).

Great flick and nicely done Blu-ray. My only real complaint is that I wish it really was stereo as it says on the case. What makes this worse is that the menu has this really cool modern, repeating riff with drums, electronica, tones and more in stereo. It's not from the movie (damn!). Perhaps Image puts it on all their blu-rays, but it sets the sound bar much higher than the movie can reach - which is a bit of a bringdown.

Just watched it. Hadn't seen it in decades. Excellent film. Very good PQ as well.

Based on the superb novel by Frederick Forsyth. Highly recommended.

If you're interested in this movie,you should pick the newly released version from Powerhouse (Indicator Series).
It's got a 2K restoration,the picture is splendid,decent audio and there's a nice booklet if you're quick,as this is limited to 3,000 copies.
Regions A,B + C is worth mentioning for our American friends.

I guess the UK Powerhouse release is being reissued (?) in March 2021. Shows as a pre-order. Assuming it is a reissue, and aside from the bonus features, is the video much improved over the 2012 USA release?

The bitrate is much better on the Indicator release, same underlying transfer.

For a brief second I thought Little Odessa was getting a release. Really want that on Blu-ray.

It's subtle but the Indicator reveals a bit more grain/detail.

Thanks. It's a tad sharper, probably not enough to upgrade for that reason alone, but there are additional reasons.
