To start I've got two examples:
1) In the German dub of Hogan's Heroes the Germans have regional accents of Germany. For instance Colonel Klink has a Saxon accent and Sergeant Schultz a Bavarian one. It's even funnier when you know the Nazis were against regional dialects. The POW on the other hand speak standard German, except Louis LeBeau who's got a French accent, obviously. 2) In the European French dub of The Simpsons Milhouse van Houten's parents have a Belgian accent because of their surname I guess. (European French because there's also a separate French-Canadian dub.) |
