Lightbulb 400+ 500+ 600+ Blu-ray Disc Collection Club

I never posted in the other "100+200+300+" thread before, but I thought it would be good for us folks with more gargantuan collections to have a place to discuss our own unique topics, such as "storage"

So to get things rolling, I no longer display my collection on shelves, I have gone to putting them in attractive binders. I mean it is just not practical unless you want to devote an entire room to just displaying BD's. I certainly don't want my lounge looking like a DVD rental store

This picture was taken when I had approx 230. I am over the 400 mark now and heave relocated them to a more sturdy bookshelf.

I hope it doesn't get merged. I think us larger collection owners have our own unique issues, and I don't want to read about the desire to "build a bigger collection." I mean I am not dreaming of the day I hit 500, or 600 BD's, but I know I will soon enough

yeah, I agree, there's certain issues we deal with (mostly psychological and dealing with addiction )

500 is something I will probably hit next year, 600 will most likely be 2012 or 2013, contrary to popular belief I don't buy movies just to pad my collection. Glad my hours at work seem to be going back up, will help me pay bills quicker and buy a few more movies in the process.

I know! I was so proud of myself with the recent Deepdiscount BOGO. I soo wanted to pick up around 12 "so so" titles, but I bit the bullet and only got 4 quality titles:

Pandora & The Flying Dutchman
Steamboat Bill Jr
Battleship Potemkin
The General

It was quite an amazing achievement for me to resist the desire to pull the trigger. I mean some of those titles were working out at approx 4 dollars each (minus postage). It sure HURT the collector in me to pass up those "guilty pleasure" bargains So much so that I'm still thinking about it a few weeks later

I know that feeling. I did that too, but then the Ultimate electronics B1G1 promotion was going on and my local UE gave me unlimited uses of it.... yeahhhhhh, that didn't work out so well for my self control. Pretty much took down my entire wishlist + some

As long as your bank acct can handle it, that's the main thing. I have been feeling the pinch a bit lately, so I have to be careful. Other important expenses like home repairs take all the fun out of life

I recently cut my hours at work. I went from 5 days a week to 4 days. Luckily I have 2 pay rises coming in the next 2 months to help alleviate that. It has really hit my pocket though. But life is all about balance.

no, haven't watched all of them, but then again, a good chunk of them are my wife's too (not going to catch me watching Twilight ), yeah, someone could take the br's, but that's what Insurance is for (I catalogue everything). And in reality that's the risk you take when you own anything. *shrug
