Default Sony UBPX700

I just bought another one of these but was curious if there's a way to make them region free?

There seems to be no quick, easy workaround on this one - you'd have to pay to get it done. Not sure where you are, but there are companies over here (the UK) who you send it to, they'll mod it for BD & DVD multi-region then post it back for a pre-agreed price. There are probably a number of companies like this near you, wherever you are.

Sony always was one of the more difficult companies to chip, and the price is higher as a result. The complete cost here is over $200, which while an interesting investment, snaps into perspective when they sell them new (and mod'ed) for about $370 anyway.

It's an expensive business, but going multi-region is worth it.
