United Kingdom Almost Famous (HMV Exclusive) - Cine Edition - July 12th 2021

For the first time on 4K Ultra HD, the Golden Globe® Best Motion Picture winner (2000, Musical/Comedy), restored under the supervision of Oscar®-winning Writer/Director Cameron Crowe (2000, Best Original Screenplay). Almost Famous is the semi-autobiographical odyssey of 15-year-old William Miller (Patrick Fugit), whose writing talent and earnest passion for rock music earns him an assignment for Rolling Stone, interviewing and touring with Stillwater (Billy Crudrup, Jason Lee). Penny Lane (Kate Hudson) is the young groupie who guides him through the wild world of rock heroes, all-night parties, and the most dangerous intensity of all: Love.

https://store.hmv.com/store/film-tv/...A00%3A00-Solus

HMV Exclusive 4K Ultra HD includes:
Rigid Slipcase featuring original artwork
Limited Edition Poster
6 Stillwater Tour Stickers
Stillwater Tour Ticket Stubb

SPECIAL FEATURES ON BLU-RAY
Bootleg Cut of the Film
Commentary with Cameron Crowe & Friends
Theatrical Version of the Film

ALL NEW:
Filmmaker Focus: Cameron Crowe on almost Famous
Casting & Costumes
Rock School – Odds & Sods – Extended Scenes
“Fever Dog” Music Video
Interview with Lester Bangs
Cameron Crowe’s Top Albums of 1973
“Love come and Goes”
B-Sides

Looks to be the same content as the upcoming US Paramount Presents edition. A regular 4K UHD version comes out the same day. Hopefully there'll be a blu-ray only version too.

I was looking at this on the HMV site yesterday, will definitely be ordering it, but I can't figure out why it's 4 discs. Is the extended bootleg cut on a UHD too? The standard edition is listed as 2 discs which I was guessing is 1 UHD and 1 BD.

Yes it’s 4 discs
UHD - Theatrical
UHD - Bootleg
BD - Theatrical
BD - Bootleg

From the disc pictures on the BDs these look the current discs.

The U.K. standard version is
UHD - Theatrical
BD - Theatrical

So definitely worth the extra £10 to get bootleg in 4K and HD.

BTW the US release is
UHD - Theatrical
UHD - Bootleg

So the standard U.K. release looks very poor vs the HMV exclusive or US releases.

Sold! Never bought the BD because the theatrical is, for me, the way to watch the film. I'd have been pretty happy if we just got the theatrical on BD but this whole package on 4k is a real treat.

I've gone for the US steelbook (£25 total, VAT paid, from Deep Discount with a code) - only the two UHDs, which is fine by me, and a nice looking steel.

Just had a look on the back cover it's actually UHD Bootleg cut and BD Theatrical cut on the standard edition which is somehow worse.

I'm 100% buying the HMV exclusive, I'm not buying any more steelbooks

I do wonder, though - is there any reason for the TC and EC to be on seperate discs, other than giving them the chance to charge more for a bigger set?

Wouldn't it just be possible to 'branch' between the the two cuts/edits on a single disc?

Thanks, I need to see the list of languages that I should. I suppose that being Sony it will have the same audios on all discs, but I want to make sure.

Now that this is released, can anyone confirm that this has the exact same content as the US edition?
