Default Dying Light 2 Stay Human (PS5)

Quote:
After a couple of AMA videos, Techland is apparently set to announce significant news regarding Dying Light 2. According to an email sent out by the developer, Dying Light 2 will have something special revealed on Thursday, May 27th at 3pm ET, which you’ll be able to catch on Techland’s Twitch page. Dying Light 2 is in development for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series, with a purported release date later this year.

a definitive version of the first one on ps5 would've been nice.

I played it close to launch on xbox one, but the game got many updates, it probably has double or triple the content since then.

Looks like a lot of fun. Very much enjoyed the first. Only thing I need to know is if it is support crossplay with PC. Then I am set. If not then could be a skip.

Is there a difficulty mode for Dying Light 1? I like to explore and don't always have time to upgrade to see most of the map without getting overpowered too soon for games not fully on my radar of must have games.

This sequel looks really promising but those night mutant zombies look intense.

Pretty good? Understatement IMHO!!!

I've been playing computer games since Pong in the 70s and Dying Light is by a wide margin my favorite game.

The first 3d first person take where I felt it was real 3d, with full degrees of movement, vertically in and out of most buildings. Just incredible.

I have been waiting so long for this game!

Techland should've really ported it to current gen, it's a shame the game is locked at 30fps

there is enough time for people to beat it before December

Looks great. First one was a blast and much better than Dead Island. I’m surprised Techland doesn’t have some kind of crazy-ass edition for this like they did for the first…

Also, this game (and the first) are perfect candidates for VR.

Cool. When you say real 3D, like stereo 3D? Do you have the PC version with a stereo 3D mod? Or it just felt like 3D? Either way, that's cool you were so immersed into the game.

The Parkour moves look fun.

That would be a smart move, agreed.

Better than Dead Island? That's good to hear. I played most of Dead Island but when I got to the second half, I lost interest in continuing. It was a decent, well made game, but felt it could've been more open. When Dying Light was first shown years ago, I thought it was a spin off or something.
Dead Island 2 got passed to different developers and is now in limbo.

Dead Island and Riptide were fun when playing in a group, but were kind of repetitive and boring when playing solo. Dying Light was fun solo or with others, not to mention it looked better visually and the parkour was a nice addition to gameplay.

Techland made the first Dead Island, so that’s why I’m comparing the two.

In my opinion it was pretty good.

There are lots of games which use 1st person. The parkour was “kinda” unique. The genre, not so much.

Hopefully the game doesn’t suffer from the very troubled development hell.

Kind of? No way. Can you tell me of one other game with that level of actual 3d freedom. Eg vertically. And building entry? I guess you could write it off as some parkour gimmick, but that is just part of it. Most buildings you can enter. A closed door isn't an end of line. A mound on the side or the road isn't an insurmountable obstacle, nor a window. And that is even before you can earn the grapple. Once you have that hoo boy, there is even more incredible vertical freedom. You know. All those games I've played where I keep thinking wtf, if I was actually here I'd do this. I never had it in Dying Light

Nothing I've seen ever comes even vaguley close in 40 years of gaming. Nothing.

Not sure what your getting at.

Most games have ways around the open worlds they create.

Mirror”s Edge did a lot of the above 7 years before Dying Light.

Those are great abilities, especially being able to go through windows and doors into almost any building.

I know Mirror's edge is all about Parkour and has a sequel that lets you explore the rooftops of an open city, but it never lets you touch the ground and explore there too, so it's a limited game compared to the freedom of Dying Light from what I saw in the gameplay videos.

How did you like the expansion DLC, where you go into the wilderness farmland and have the dune buggy car?

Mind blowing. I'd been playing Dying Light for ages, then The Following came out as dlc. It was bigger in length and map then the original. It was incredible. I didn't do much driving in it other than when forced though. Just not into driving. You miss too many goodies.

I'm still blown away at the scope and utter freedom of the game.
