Finally! Suprised Paramount didn't put this out.

Hopefully we can get Delirious next.

Heard great things about this. Kinda depressing when Universal started putting out a lot of their niche titles straight to Blu-ray, and with little-to-no extras too, but now are doing store exclusives like this one...

I guess we can't complain too much when other studios are guilty of worse (DVD-only, VoD-only etc). A recent example being Kelly Reichardt's Certain Women, which was critically lauded but is only getting a DVD release.

How long do you expect it to be exclusive to HMV?

When I first opened this was thinking the same thing as you, Eddie Murphy : Raw, only to be disappointed. Delirious was filmed on sd video unlike Raw so won't look much better than the dvd unfortunately.

I'd say permanently, unless it gets picked up by somebody else once the rights expire. Most exclusive stuff in the UK is genuinely exclusive.

Oh, okay, thanks Dougling, that's a pity to hear! So I'm hoping for a not so far away german or scandinavian release.

Not necessarily - some releases have been 'exclusive' to HMV/Zavvi/Amazon for 6-12 months and then showed up with other retailers, so the same could happen here. That said, this isn't exactly a mainstream title so it could well be that Universal only intend to do a minimum print-run of this title on Blu-ray, similar to some Zavvi exclusives of late.

A bit late to the topic, but..

I just came across this title when looking at new releases and was intrigued. Unfortunately, the US is only getting a DVD release. Amazon ES shipping costs take it up to $25 (the cheapest option I've found with English subtitles). I was really hoping to order from Amazon UK since their shipping prices to the US aren't bad at all.

If anyone happens to learn that this is a timed-exclusive and that retailers like Amazon, Zavvi, etc. will be getting this in the future, I'd really appreciate if you'd post an update.

Thanks!! ♥

Watched this last night (got a free movie purchase via Sky Store). It really is a cracking little film. I have the DVD being sent out but I'll also pick up the Bluray.

You may want to personal message "cudzndrips" on this forum. He runs a lot of HMV exclusive group buys here. Should be able to help you out.

Not sure though how much he would charge for shipping and packaging to US, so how it would stack up versus Amazon.es

Worth the question though.

Posted on the movie thread about this when I watched Raw a few day ago and thought it was excellent. More on the art-house side of horror and while there is gore, it's more interested in its lead characters psychology. Very well acted and written, with great cinematography and one of the more memorable recent movie scores. I bought the Spanish release because it was cheap. PQ and SQ first rate, I don't think there are any extras though.

I'll have to consider that route, maybe he could organize a group buy for this title. I hope this is just a timed exclusive though. Or that someone releases this on Blu in the States. Maybe Shout or Criterion will get it.

Is the postage so expensive to the States ? I live in Europe and order BD from Amazon.com all the time.

I could be wrong but I think the issue is, that unlike Amazon sites, HMV only post within the UK.

For my fellow US residents looking for a English friendly, Region A compatible release of this film that won't require extra hoops to obtain, the Spanish release is waiting for you.

https://www.amazon.es/Raw-Blu-ray/dp...A1AT7YVPFBWXBL

Just got it the mail today. The only downside is no bonus features (as on the UK release), the thinner than usual blu-ray case (thankfully not an eco-case, though) and no reversible English artwork.
