Default Samsung LNT4665F 46 -- Thoughts?

Okay first off hello everyone and thanks for having such a great site!

I am going to be upgrading my tv in the living room soon, and planed to get the above mentioned tv. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on it to begin with. For the size of my living room nothing above 46 is really an option, i literally have about 50 inches of space.

Second question is where to get it.

1) Amazon lists it at 1675 with free white glove delivery (they come to your house, take it out of the box, hook it up, and THEN you sign for it after your sure it works)

2) Bestbuy, currently best buy has some killer deals with this tv. Of which you get 3 free bluray movies ( 50 First Dates, Invincible and Night at the Museum) a 350 dollar message chair, and some other stuff like 40% off a harmony remote. Top it off with a 12% coupon for tvs and its 1800 with tax.

So basicly the quest is, is the extra 100 worth it to get it from best buy? The chair and the fact i could take it down the street if it breaks makes me think it might be.

the chair is a nice add on

I have the tv, bought it first in feb 07 thru an online dealer, it has some issues with dropping thepicture for a few seconds, but they worked on it and upgraded the boards, you can check the avsforum for more info

Got some semi odd questions i like to ask if you dont mind.

1) How log does it take to turn on (odd i know but my father purchased a sharp i think, and it takes a good 30-45 seconds before the picture is up, makes it hard to tell if its even turning on)

2) Hows the input switching, can i go straight from tuner to hdmi or do i need to cycle through sources.

3) Lastly, how did you like the standard remote, was it do able or should i invest in a universal?

Thanks again

i have the 52 in version,
1 its not long by 10-15 secs its fully on and bright ready to go
2 1-5 sec, depending on the signal, like going from tv to ps3 it has been almost instant but as long as like 5 secs, but i think thats the ps3 not the tv, because going back to tv, it takes no time
3 the remote isnt bad, if you like alot of options you got it, i dont need all those options, but its nice to have if i want to tweak things while watching a movie, i have a universal but so far have opted against using it.

great tv, love mine, makes cod4 and blu rays look amazing.

Hi dustin,

Welcome to the forum!

I think this tv is very good also. I've been researching them myself. The tv has been rated very highly by such sources as CNET as well (http://reviews.cnet.com/flat-panel-t...32306311.html), not to impune the advice of our trusted friend Amel above.

You rock Amel!!

As far as where to get it, depends on what you're comfortable with. If you don't mind having it shipped, I've found Frys.com to be very competitively priced and, if you're comfortable enough with it, eBay has some good prices as well.

Good luck in your search!

- To turn on, not more than 3-4 seconds.

2) Hows the input switching, can i go straight from tuner to hdmi or do i need to cycle through sources.

- One or two clicks.

3) Lastly, how did you like the standard remote, was it do able or should i invest in a universal?

- I use two remotes, my setup-box and surround system remote. I can't really tell you of what the best option is, it depends how many and what electronic devices you have.

Thanks again
