It's like they plucked out one of Netflix's upcoming releases and stamped the "American Pie presents" title on it.

This just proves to me that they really can't capture the same charm that the first few American Pie movies had. Really not feeling this one at all and doesn't surprise me in the slightest that it's going straight to dvd.

But if you like it, fair enough.

Band Camp was okay, but the rest of the direct to DVD sequels have been pretty bland. This just looks awful.

Cheap-ass, creatively bankrupt garbage!

Give me American Pie 5 with characters I actually like.

Agreed. Even that new movie called Palm Springs feels more American Pie than this one does (and has a cast I actually like) even though it doesn't have the same premise/plot beats as the American Pie movies.

When other movies are doing it better, it's time to stop, or try to evolve into something better.

Watched the opening scene just now. I'll finish it tomorrow since I already invested ten minutes into this, but unless there's some tie in to the original series or Eugene Levy makes some surprise cameo no one was informed about (hell, I'll even take a random Natasha Lyonne appearance), this will easily take the spot of worst "American Pie" movie to date. Not digging these new characters at all.

This feels like Fast and Furious. What once was, and what is now.

Except F&F was once mediocre, and is now batshit crazy and kind of awesome.

This is......not an improvement over what once was.

I wish they'd do another sequel with the main cast. Reunion was fantastic.

What? I completely disagree.

You may dislike from what it was originally (street racing), but it doesn't mean it was mediocre. Now, it's just average action movies named "Fast and Furious" without actually being fast or furious.

The series has undoubtedly changed over time, but I've enjoyed nearly all of them for different reasons.

Re American Pie, I'd stay protect the brand by stopping attaching the "Pie" moniker to straight-to-DVD bilge, but that ship sailed many years ago.

When you can't even get Eugene Levy to show up for a paycheck, it's time to retire the brand.

He just won an Emmy for Schitt's Creek. I don't think he needs some direct-to-video paycheck right now.

Well, you're entitled to your hot take as much as anyone else. Just try not to burn yourself on it...

Why even bother? If I want to see a bunch of losers trying to get laid I'll just go to a bar.

Had no idea. He just seemed to be the one consistent in many of the sequels.
