Default Disney Treasures tins

I have most of the Walt Disney Treasures dvds, but for shelf space reasons, the tins are in a box in the cupboard.
Was having a sort out today, and it appears that some of the tins have rusted. It's peculiar, as there's no damp issues here, and it's only happened to a select number of them. It's rather disappointing really.
Is this a known issue with these, something to do with how their manufactured?

I couldn’t say, but I’d believe it. Disney is known for being on the cheap side and these were intentionally made to be a limited release for hardcore collectors. Which is largely a joke because the restorations really aren’t that great. Worse than the Looney Tunes Golden Collections from what I understand.

I have Anchor Bay-tinboxes and they have no rust and look the same they were 20 years ago.
So it`s probably Disney`s "quality"

I can only comment on mine of course, but I have the full collection, and they are basically in the condition they were when I bought them. They are displayed on a shelf near a window, which may or may not be relevant.

My Anchor Bay tins are fine, as is my Warner King Kong tin edition. For some reason it seems to just be some of the Disney tins. Some kind of chemical issues in the tins maybe, as there's not really much damp here.

I also bought all of them as they were released, and all of them are still in pristine condition.

Trigger warning - all my tins went in the bin when I moved home some years ago.
