God, I love Nic Cage. He's so fascinating and unpredictable, zigzagging from prestigious dramas to B (or C, or even Z)-grade popcorn films with unrivaled zeal. Even when he's in an awful movie, such as Neil LaBute's misguided update of The Wicker Man, you have to admit: Cage is never boring.

1. Adaptation.
2. The Weather Man
3. Leaving Las Vegas
4. The Rock
5. Lord of War

Technically, RAISING ARIZONA is my favorite Nicholas Cage performance but I had to give a shout-out to one of the most painfully underrated films of recent history, THE FAMILY MAN. It's simply a gem of a movie, one which generates true pathos throughout, not just simple holiday film schmaltz. If you have a dry eye at the end as Cage fights to make Téa Leoni believe in the existence of their two children, who never really lived, but still potentially might, in some form or fashion, if she just waits one more night before boarding that plane, well...I guess I'm happy I'm not you.

Okay, you're prob going to hate me for keep naming titles on your threads that you didn't post, but I thought since you like Cage, you should go out ASAP and try to find Vampire's Kiss. NOW!

Two of Cage's best films were left off of the list: Red Rock West and Rumble Fish.

Raising Arizona and Valley Girl are my two favorites.

I think Nicolas Coppola had 1 line in Fast Times.

The Family Man was my vote as well. I watch this a few times a year and never get bored of the laughs. After going through the film I can't imagine not getting choked up at the end. By the way, it was between this and The Weather Man. When he gets hit with the food I nearly fall off the couch every time. Both are must see films. I like Cage in everything I've seen him in so far. Look at it this way, the guy had a comic collection valued in the millions and he owns castles.... can you get much cooler than that?

The bad Leutenante.
He was born for that role, and his perfomance was Oscar worthy.
