Default Your first comic purchase?

Does anyone else remember what comics they first purchased? I actually still have my first two, bought with lawn mowing money.

I figured that was part of it, but still 70+ views and one comment.

While I love comic book movies, I've never been a serious comic collector. The big one I remember buying as a kid was the wedding of Cyclops and Jean Grey:

I actually didn't really read many comics when I was a kid and didn't start until almost my teens. My dad had an oversized version of Marvel's The Empire Strikes Back that I liked, but the first comic book I remember owning myself was TMNT Adventures #1, based on the '80s cartoon. I think my mom bought it for me one day while she was out and saw it somewhere.

After that, I got a sort of grab bag of Marvel Comics from my grandma for Christmas in 1990 that had something like 10 random issues of various titles. That got me a little more interested because it had some Spider-Man, Captain America and Wolverine.

But the big jump start for me was in 1991 when I picked up this comic book from the grocery store newsstand:

I read the whole thing standing there while my mom shopped and loved it, and used some of my allowance to buy it. It ended with a "to be continued," so soon after I hit up a nearby comic shop that I knew had recently opened to find the next issue and that's when I started getting into comics. As such, the early-90s will always be a special time for me comics-wise.

Sadly, that Turtles comic book is long gone, but I still have that Spidey and some of the comics from that grab bag.

I know that I also picked up PITT #2 and Wolverine #74 at the same time. Still a huge Wolverine and Punisher fan!
