Listed with 134 min. Meaning it is not the directors cut. Meaning they can keep it.

Yeah, but that's just an initial listing with no details regarding special features. MVD included extended cuts for Black Eagle and Lionheart, so if there's a director's cut of this, I actually think the odds of them including it are better than 50/50.

If they port over the extended cut and all the bonus features from the three disc set, this will be an easy day one

Saw this theatrically in 2002. I know it was a box-office flop that took a critical drubbing but I loved it; the brutal and kinetic action scenes have a real intensity and Nicolas Cage gives a criminally underrated performance in it...this remains my favorite American film by John Woo. Really hoping this is the director's cut (it strengthens character development and several action sequences are rendered more coherently; the combat sequence that introduces Cage's character, for example, is far too choppy and confusing in the theatrical version), and that all the extras and commentaries from the 3-disc DVD set are ported over.

I went into this film all those years ago not knowing anything about the Navajo contribution to the war effort...and those words at the conclusion stating the Navajo Code was never broken still gets me every time.

this seems like the kind of release that will be in the $5.99 bin at Best Buy within a month or two from streetdate.....

Its 8.99 now at Best Buy, MVD Marquee is going to retail for $19.99 at least due to the inclusion of the archival special features and new encode of the existing master.

I never got around to watching the director's cut and haven't picked up the regular blu-ray, so I'm pretty sure I'll be getting this.

I'd buy it for the director's cut, but it is extremely unrealistic. For example, Cage running across an open field with a never-ending Thompson magazine and hitting men from several hundred feet away without taking a hit.

So MGM is licensing titles to a distributor that's trying to make a name for itself by starting a home video label? There goes Code Red's theory that MGM only licenses to "big fish".

They already licensed the Barbershop/Beautyshop franchise films, Autumn in New York, and Walking Tall ‘04 to MVD; these were released June 5th. And all MVD is not doing a lot of major work for these. The already existing HD video and audio masters are being used.

It's bullet ballet - John Woo style!

Still remember paying a full $25 for the three-disc DVD set on opening release day, and only being able to sell it for a buck years later.

Does MGM even have a system to release a Blu-ray themselves? I wonder if they'll do Legally Blonde themselves or if that's something we can expect from this line, given they did Barbershop.

MGM already released both films themselves via Fox and these had nearly all the extras on the Blu-rays save for a the first film’s trivia track. The MVD Marquee line wouldn’t apply or fit these films.

Legally Blonde 3 is coming so either: MGM via Fox will re-release the first two with new extras to promote it or Shout gets the first two with new extras.

I'll get it if they port over the Director's Cut and the extras from that too.

Does Fox have a perpetual contract to distribute MGM's movies on Blu-ray?

Underrated movie from the mini WWII movie revival that was going on from 1998-2003.

You can thank Medal of Honor, Call of Duty, and Battlefield for that.

Fingers crossed its the extended cut . . . I'd love to see the extended cut of Tears from the Sun, Ray, and the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe as well.
