EXCLUSIVE: A bountiful AFM Market just got even better. Buyers are buzzing about Silent Night, the first U.S. action film in decades to be directed by the iconic Chinese filmmaker John Woo. Joel Kinnaman will star in an film that will tell a loud action tale, without a word of dialogue.

Sources tell Deadline the story is basic, as a normal father heads into the underworld to avenge his young son’s death. The film is in negotiations to be financed by Capstone. John Wick’s Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, Christian Mercuri and Lori Tilkin are producing and Capstone’s Ruzanna Kegeyan is overseeing with Joe Gatta. Other casting is underway. -@

Y'know, I don't think I've ever really liked a John Woo film very much, but the trailer for this looked great. I'll definitely be checking it out.

Just saw trailer before saw x had no clue woo was trying a comeback this movie looks nuts and ill be there day 1

Well the subtitles are butchered at least with Hard Boiled HK release.

The quality is just poor on em.

Really looking forward to seeing the trailer when it comes online (unlikely to screen in front of Saw X in Australia) but can anyone give any impressions of the footage - what made it look so good?

It looks very urban and highly emotional, Joel Kinneman looks like a total bad ass and the action scenes absolutely rock, lot's of gun fights with environmental damage (unlike the John Wick films) 2 fisted gunplay, car chases and proper stunts with no digital stuntmen in sight

PLUS the trailer featured "Ode to Joy' The Classic Action Movie Theme!
