Yes, those are single sided discs, usually with two films per disc (in some cases, just one.)

They’re technically not the same sets. Yes same films and most of the same extras but...
1. Dracula, Frankenstein, Mummy, Bride, Wolf Man, Creature use the same masters that were created for the 2012 BDs on the 2014 sets. 2. The 2004 sets don’t have duplicated films while for the 2014 sets Frankenstein meets Wolf Man is in both the Frankenstein and Wolf Man sets while House of Frankenstein, House of Dracula, and Abbott & Costello meet Frankenstein are in the Dracula, Frankenstein and Wolf Man sets. 3. Different menus. The 2014 sets annoyingly don’t have scene selections through the menu while the 2004 sets do. 4. The 2014 sets drops the Van Helsing featurettes from the 2004 sets while including featurettes of Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi, Lon Chaney Jr and Jack Pierce as well as the Universal Horror documentary, none of which were on the 2004 sets. 5. The 2014 sets include the Abbott and Costello crossovers. 6. And yes the 2014 discs are single sided as opposed to the doubles sided 2004 discs. There’s a few other things but those are the key highlights. |
