Being that you're Region B, you could always order the Australian BD. It's a port of the Region A version from the US. It looks terrific and has all the extras.

This would be an excellent choice for Arrow to license for release...

There are also French, German and Dutch versions of this, all Eng friendly though they don't feature the longer cut.

Dunno anything about a longer cut, but the Australian BD is 106 minutes, which would seem to be the full cut from memory, as I saw the film when it came out. It's certainly well long enough at that run-time... The IMDB listing has it at 99 minutes.

I got my copy (and cheaper) from a store called JBHI-FI, but for some odd reason, they only have the SD version listed on their website. You could always contact them and find out what the story is.

Since the director passed away last month, there won't be any new interviews or anything from him anymore. I'm glad he was able to do a commentary and contribute to the extras on the US release.

I think if anyone releases it in the UK it will most likely be Second Sight.

I got the new Fabulous Films release of this, and disc 1, the original US theatrical cut, features a new 2K or 4K master! It’s a big improvement, although I haven’t watched it fully yet, but after having a quick scan through it, it looks pretty stunning at times.

Disc 2 features the original UK theatrical cut, but that uses the old master, and looks no way near as good. I’m kind of amazed they didn’t advertise this as having a new restoration of the US cut, it seems bizarre. Anyway, it’s great we got at least one of the cuts restored.

absolutely! But how is this even possible? I couldn't even found any reviews (therefore no audio specs).

And yes, ordered

So the new release is a newer master than the previous UK Steelbook?
