I am VERY, VERY excited. This is certainly a day-1 purchase. One of the greatest films ever; definitely deserved "Best Picture" (1984). Peter Scaffer, Milos Forman, Tom Hulce, what more could you ask for?

The greatness of the movie lies in its bewildering theological subtext (i.e. the perceived absence of God's presence in one's life). Phenomenal.

No, because it's the directors cut. I love the original but hate the directors cut. It makes Amadeus' wife look like a prostitute and Soliari look confused and creepy.

I will for sure be getting this one. I would wait for the theatrical cut, but who knows how long that will be (or will ever be).

WB should have included BOTH versions (seamless branching). It should have been able to fit on on BD - look at King Kong (it fit). I really like the digibook series (I know some people do not). I wish they had a slipcase to keep the book from flopping open. At least that is not an issue when they are packed between other BDs on the shelf.

I will buy this. I saw this movie in the 7th grade and loved every second.. the VHS was split on to two tapes and we made a whole night out of it. It's probably what made me fall in love with period pieces and biopics.

Except for the digibook part, yes been wanting this for a while. (Saw it in decent theater long ago when it first came out; first time I noticed surround sound.) Not sure the Director's Cut is for me or not, but it's been on pre-order for some time.

Yes, I am VERY excited. Hoping the soundtrack gets a top notch treatment.

Warner Brothers is not very popular for their releases and usually just include 1 version of the film. King Kong was released by Universal who almost always do excellent job on their releases.

I already spent a lot of time talking about the differences between the director's cut and the original cut, so I'm not going to rehash.

AMADEUS is also my all time favorite film, so definitely a highly anticipated title. One of 6 that I'm dying to get this month alone.

I'm REALLY excited by it, too. Can't wait to show the Blu to one of my friends, who actually had a bit part in the film. (He's the hairdresser in the wig scene, where Mozart wishes he could have 3 heads.)

I've never seen the director's cut so i'm very curious to see it. My enthusiasm for the release however has been dampened since Warner's elected to go for only one cut of the film. This is a title that really should have offered "both" cuts via seamless branching as the technology is there and so many other companies are offering multiple versions (including Warner with BLADE RUNNER, I AM LEGEND).

I do intend to rent it and if I do like the Director's cut, i'll purchase later.

F Murray Abraham's performance is one of the finest pieces of acting I've ever seen imo.

He definitely deserved his Oscar

I'll be picking this up, I just need to wait and see which country will be the cheapest import without the digibook. So far, the UK is winning!
