Amazon germany delivery

Hi All,

I'm simply interested in the experience of any two or three people here.

Yes it is Christmas so I fully understand and sympathise with Amazon-Germany here.

What sort of delays are people experienceing in the travelling time of orders please?

No delay for me in fact quite the opposite,
I ordered something on 19th, disptached on 20th, tracking updated yesterday to say it was in UK and I received an email this morning telling me it's out for delivery.(standard delivery too)
It wasn't even due for another week either

nik666uk clearly you've been lucky, possibly your order is coming from a UK warehouse, it does happen. I have 3 orders coming from Germany for real that are all delayed. I doubt that Dover is responcibe.

No it came from Germany, my Amazon Italy order was sent from Italy on 20th and yesterday that was also in Milton Keynes so they must be bypassing Dover.
I'm not that lucky

Since yesterday there is no shipping of packages from Germany to UK and Ireland. But that's not because of Amazon. (It even might be, that you can get Items from Amazon.de delivered by an UK Warehouse.)

DHL does not accept any packages to UK and Ireland since yesterday, and even packages that were brought to the shop last week may return to sender, because they do not have enough storage avaible.

I think Hermes also doesnt accept any shippings to UK and Ireland, too.

stratford, I don't know where you're located, it sounds like you may be in the UK, be aware that I'm in the US.

I ordered The Last of the Mohicans 3-disc SE on December 6 from Amazon.de

When I ordered it, the expected delivery date was anywhere between Dec 12 and Dec 31. Express shipping was the only option offered, costing about 15 EUR.

It was shipped on Dec 21 via DHL, with a projected delivery date of Dec 29.

The next day, I got an email from DHL that the projected delivery date was Dec 24.

Right now, it seems that they're sending out all lightweight packages to the US by DHL, but they're giving lengthy delivery windows, because their warehouses must be backlogged and have limited staff. The same thing happened with the Years and Years BD I ordered last month.

On the other hand, I also ordered a hardback coffee table book about the making of Babylon Berlin Season 3 from Amazon.de on Dec 14, because they were down to their last few copies. They only charged regular shipping on that. It shipped the next day, but the expected delivery date is January 7.

James yes you are right I live in UK, but like you say delays should be expected. I had a couple of Amazon-DE deliveries earlier in December arrive very quickly

My latest order was due to arrive Sunday, it's gone Awol. Last tracking was leaving Germany on the 17th. I can have a refund if it hasn't arrived by tomorrow ( i highly doubt it will).

saltysam give them some extra time. One of my Amazon-De orders due to reach me on Sunday 27Th, here and now was near you at Saint Helens, Merseyside GB today
